About Rocket Arena
Rocket Arena — officially renamed from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in 2024 — opened in 1994 as Gund Arena as part of the Gateway District development alongside Progressive Field. Designed as a true multi-purpose venue, it has hosted NBA basketball, massive concerts, NCAA Tournament games, and major events for over 30 years.
A $185 million renovation completed in 2019 transformed the building with The Q Overlook (glass-enclosed skyline view), expanded premium spaces, upgraded concessions, world-class sound and lighting, and new social areas. The intimate sightlines remain a hallmark, making it one of the best basketball arenas in the NBA.
Home to the 2016 NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers, Rocket Arena is the heart of downtown Cleveland’s entertainment scene and a landmark venue in Northeast Ohio.
